I would have noticed if my IUD came out right?

So I often have difficulty finding the strings, today is no different. But I am experiencing a really weird period much like the period I had when I was already pregnant last time. I'm just being paranoid right? There's no way it could have fallen out without me noticing right?

Dunno. They're very small.

Maybe.

Mine came out, without me noticing until I saw it in the bath. But that was a long time ago and I don't know if they have changed since. Can you get a check done at the GP/Family Planning Clinic?

Overseas at the moment so not really convenient. If I'm not able to locate it I will do when I get back to Britain.

We often scan women who can't find the strings , most of them didn't feel it come out .

@Cremefresh that's a bit terrifying. I assumed that I would have spotted if it came out. How common is it for an IUD to come out over a year after it is inserted?

It's quite common , if you can't find it you might have to have an ultrasound scan and if that doesn't show it, then we'd X-ray you .

Found it after all. But I am definitely going to be more vigilant now. Thanks for the replies.

Shame you can't tie a bell to it...

Please check it with your doctor, mine didn't come out but moved and I got pregnant.
