Heavy bleeding during sex - Loestrin

Hi,

I've recently started using the pill again (Loestrin, this is my first pack) after coming off contraceptive pills in 2013 (had been on them for approx 10 years before that).

GP advised for me to start using the pill again due to extreme pain, pressure etc for 2-3 days during every period - had blood tests all fine, waiting for an US to check for fibroids (I think). Pain so bad during those days it's difficult to walk, sit etc.

Started Loestrin on day 5 of period as advised by GP. Now on CD 20. We've had sex 3 times, first time absolutely fine, last time and right now I've had a huge bleed - lots of bright red blood. Last time I didn't realise until afterwards but this time I realised quite quickly.

Obvs won't be able to see GP for a good few days and it's not an OOH matter but it's given me a fright and made me quite tense about having sex again. Is it just settling into the pill again? I had issues previously with spotting after sex and outside of period while on the pill but it's the amount of fresh blood that has freaked me out a little! Any advice/similar experience welcomed! Thanks

Is lowestrin a combined pill ? I’ve been on lots of combined pills both low and high doses and I don’t think you are really supposed to spot outside of your pill break but I do know this can happen as a result of having fibroids. I’m not a dr so please see one when you get the chance but it sounds like it is more related to this although I could be wrong

Sorry honey I posted then completely forgot! Yes it's a combined pill. We haven't DTD this month as I feel like a period is coming constantly - that sort of heavy feeling. It's making me worried. I have an ultrasound next week so will see if that sheds any light!
