Anyone relate to this?

I’ve been taking the mini pill since mid September after switching from the combined pill due to headaches. However, it’s msking me very paranoid as I feel pregnant . I’ve also had some random bleeding- not a period exactly, and sore boobs, but both of these things have freaked me out because I associate them with being pregnant.

I haven’t missed any pills, or been sick, and I did a hpt just over a week ago which was negative, but I still feel a bit worried.

Is this just a mini pill side effect? I’ve taken the mini pill before when I was breastfeeding and didn’t get these symptoms then- which i think is why I’m freaking out. The lack of period on it too is also another thing that’s making me worry, but short of doing a hpt every week forever I can’t see what else I can do!

Ps- please no one suggest the coil. Been there done that. It perforated my uterus and had to be revived via keyhole surgery

Hi, I hope you have managed to find some answers before now. Every type of pill causes different symptoms in my experience. I’ve never been pregnant for very long but this all sounds really normal and might settle down. At the beginning mine caused sore breasts, bad skin, nausea, headaches, bloating and random bleeding. Thankfully this is just about settling down now and I hope it has for you. The way someone explained it to me was, when you are pregnant your progesterone is higher to keep you from having a period (which would be a miscarriage) so taking progesterone only pills can cause the same symptoms as pregnancy. Progesterone only methods do mess you up though. Most have caused me to bleed constantly but this is the first pill I have found which I haven’t. For a lot of people progesterone only methods stop there periods all together. If you are taking it correctly and not sick/on antibiotics then the chances of you being pregnant are really small I think. I’m really sorry to hear you had to go through this with the coil. It must have been really scary for you. If you are thinking of switching there are other progesterone only methods but none which will definitely give you regular periods,
