Pain during sex in pregnancy

So... me and DP have had a wonderfully filling sex life until now! 😰 I'm now 16w pregnant with my third child. After suffering multiple miscarriages we were thrilled to find out everything was normal and healthy for this pregnancy. Now the trouble started roughly eight weeks ago. It started with just minor twinges at the bottom of my belly just under ECS scar, but has gradually got to the point where it's almost constant pressure from my belly button down. Sex is unbearable to the point where if we do attempt it after no more than a minute we have to stop! We've gone from atleast once a day to less than twice a month! 😪 my libido is exactly the same I still want to do the deed but I can't cope with the pain during! Did anyone experience the same or know what it could be?? Tia x

I think you'll need to discuss this with your MW to see if there is anything they think needs investigating, particularly as it was so early onset in this PG

Hopefully it'll be something and nothing, and you can go for non-PIV sex during pregnancy .

I've found that it can be due to lacking natural lubrication in pregnancy. We bought some cheap, basic lube - problem solved!

I'm new to this sorry I wasn't sure where to post, I have an appointment with mw today and am planning to broach it with the her.

Scans have shown everything with baby is fine and where it should be.

Just confusing as had nothing like this in previous pregnancies of dd and ds x

I didn't think of lubricant, it has been dryer down there, but would that give twinges even before sex or when doing nothing sexual at all? X

I had to give it up for the duration- essentially it caused me painful contractions.

Did you manage to get a diagnosis? So hope it doesn't come to that x

No - this was back before MN, I didn't mention it to anyone other than DH - as far as I knew it was within normal parameters. But it did just feel like a very intense period pain or suchlike rather than anything really wrong - if what you're experiencing is different then get some proper advice.

Been to see MW and it's been recommended not to have any "together" time for a month or so 🙈 thanks for the advice guys... still no closer to knowing what the actual problem is though x
