Cramps and nausea AFTER copper coil removal

Has anyone continued to have cramps and nausea after coil removal?

First copper coil inserted 5 yrs ago: no problem. Due to have it changed but did not go well Sad. Dr had to dilate cervix and whole thing hurt like hell. Had some form vasovagal reaction afterwards: felt faint, tearful, sick etc.
Dr said problem with fitting could be due to age... (46 - have also had 3 caesareans)

Continued feeling bad for 10 days so had it removed. Now still have cramps, nausea etc over a week after removal of the new coil. (Have had blood test to rule out ectopic pregnancy or inflammation).

Dr says symptoms can take a long time to go away - how long?? Anyone had similar experience? Am I just impatient??Sad
