I have had the mirena for a year almost to the day. First 3m of it were hellish and I nearly had it out I just kept bleeding lightly for weeks . But I stuck with it and I have been really happy once it settled. I have had it fitted due to hideous periods not for contraception. Husband has had the anip. I have had No periods for 9m, the occasionally slightly pink trace of blood on wiping but that was it.
Last month I was in a car accident a minor rear shunt resulting in mild whiplash and a few days later I had a bit of blood thought nothing of it. Last night however, my period arrived. A proper one complete with pain and proper blood. Quite heavy. Took me by complete suprise.
Do you think it's possible that the coil was dislodged in the accident?
