Can you get pregnant whilst on the implanon?

I've had the implanon for well over a year and always had regular periods every six weeks from day one. Now for the past 4 months I havnt had one only brown type discharge(i know disgusting) and every pregnancy symptom going! I took 10 pregnancy tests within the first 2 months of not having a period and they were all negative apart from one which was the first one i done and then all the rest were negative, so just thought it was a false positive as that test was a cheap one. Going to buy a test today if it is negative, what do you think could be wrong with me

implanon can stop your periods so it could just be that rather than pregnancy

There is a fail rate for the implant, but it's minuscule. It does reduce/stop periods in many though. If the absence of a monthly bleed is going to cause you frequent stress, then perhaps it might not be the method for you.

One of the main side effects of the implant is amenorrhoea - a lack of periods.

For many women this is a bonus of having it!

It is vanishingly rare to get pregnant with an implant - if the test is negative I would relax and not worry, but if a regular bleed is important for you then maybe the implant isn't the best contraceptive choice for you.

I'm on my 2nd implant and 4 years in and I've had every type of period going- from none, to constant and everything in between. Honestly? Based on you being on the implant and all the negative pregnancy tests, I'd say, pretty much 100% that you're not pregnant. Of course if you're worried to to the doctor but the implant has taught me that periods can be as irregular and inconsistant as anything. Your periods sound normal to me!

I have had the implant for nearly 3 years and have had no periods since then. Apparently it tricks your body into thinking its pregnant so perhaps that's the cause of your symptoms?
