There rarely seems to be a positive experience about contraceptive services in London discussed on Mumsnet. So I thought I would mention mine. Recently, I had a great experience at the Margaret Pyke Centre in Wicklow Street, London. I was getting the Mirena Coil fitted and was very nervous (as had had a ceasarean so i was told it would be more painful!). While I still don't know how I will react to the Mirena, the actual fitting process was great and pain free. The medical staff spent ages talking through contraceptive options with me, getting my medical histroy in a sympathetic and thoughtful manner, reassuring me and talking me through the procedure. The facilities was great, comfortable and clean (though there seemed to be a couple of the loos not working!). All the staff from the receptionist to the docs were nice. A recommendation, even if the Mirena doesnt end up working out for me!
