Terrified I won't be able to conceive - very heavy bleeding and blood clots

Hello,
I'm new to this, but I would really appreciate some help on something that is upsetting me.

I have been with my partner for a little over a year. We live together and are getting married in August 2014. After that, we would hope to start a family.

The big worry is, is that in 2010 I put on loads of weight (was approx 20 stone), and I bled vaginally and passed golf-ball sized clots constantly, with my break, not even a day or an hours break...just constantly. It was so heavy that I was wearing a tampon and sanitary pad at the same time, but still had to change every 20 mins.

I had severe stomach pains that left me in tears. I went to my GP, who sent me to have a long tube with a camera at the end inserted. It found nothing abnormal, just my GP said something along the lines of 'your womb wall is eroding'. Eventually, after no diagnoses or anything because they couldn't find anything, I had the mirena coil inserted, and there has been very little bleeding (maybe thrice in a year) and even then it was very very light, just perhaps dotting.

I am working on losing weight before we start trying for a family, but I am terrified that I won't be able to concieve. All I want to be is a mother, but what if I don't get the opportunity? Has anyone else had the same medical problems as above?

Many thanks for reading.

Hi Anna banana!

Eroding womb DOES sound alarming, and it is not very good that you have come away with no real information or clear idea about prognosis. I am really sorry that you have been treated this way, and are so worried.

I think you will get lots of posts from ladies with experiences like yours, lots of advice and reassurance, if you post on conception. This bit here doesn't get quite as much traffic, and tends to be more about contraception.

Wishing you the very best Torch
