Cerezette/POP and blood clots/clotting disorders?

I have been prescribed Cerezette by my GP. At the same appointment we discussed my history of Pulmonary Emboli and my clotting disorder (Hughes Syndrome) as I am not sure whether I should be on daily asprin in fact. She has written to the haematologist with regard to the daily asprin.

Anyway, it says on the Cerezette that it should be taken with caution if you have a history of clots and I am a bit concerned about this particularly in light of the fact I may be supposed to be on daily asprin and I did discuss with the pharmacist who suggested an appointment to dicsuss further with the GP.

I suppose I just wondered if anyone has a history of clots or has a clotting disorder and is on Cerazette?

I was diagnosed with factor V Leiden, a clotting disorder. My GP had me switch from Dianette (combined pill) to the cerazette (pop)as, while not totally risk free was significantly lower risk than the Dianette .

I would request an appt with haem to discuss these things as GPs don't know enough about each speciality.

I am the same as shrimp - factor v Leiden and had a dvt - been on it for about seven years (other than having my on) and no problems. Taken with caution is quite far from not recommended or contraindicated so I wouldn't worry too much but think it would be worth getting the GP to ask the haematologist.
