I had the mirena removed and was expecting a heavy bleed, which never materialised, I just passed a light period.
Then while on holidays, I experienced a second period. About 5 days later I started passing more blood, but it was very smelly. Really terrible, and I have been passing this watery/foul bloody liquid on and off for the last two weeks. No control over it, have had to use tampons to avoid the smell being obvious.
I've been reading on line that the mirena can cause a build up of old blood and cause infection. An on line solution is to douche with vinegar to restore the correct ph balance in the vagina.
Has anyone else experinced these symptoms or tried the vinegar douche?
