coils, morning after pills and post natal bleeds

I gave birth 5 weeks ago and pretty much stopped bleeding a week and a half ago. However the bleeding has come back with a vengance for the last 2 days - I'm soaking through night time strength pads every hour and its fresh red blood. I had the coil fitted on wednesday - do you think that could cause this? I also took the emergency pill (red face) last monday after drunken, first time after birth, jiggy with it with DH. Do you think its just a normal period now or is it too early days? Thanks lots

Didn't want to read and run. That sounds like a lot of blood to soak a nighttime pad in an hr so I think you should contact Nhs direct for advice. I previously had a coil and didn't bleed like that. I also had to take the morning after pill in my silly youth And again didn't bleed like that.
