mirena and hair loss

I had mirena put in nearly 8 weeks ago,am going for the 6 week check on wednesday (late as no appointments were available).

I am happy with everything except one thing that i am getting very worried about,my hair is rapidly falling out,in the shower it's loads and i notice hair on everything,clothes,sofa,my car etc..

My hair feels much thinner when i touch it,i love my hair and don't want to lose it. I will be asking my gp about it on Wednesday but wanted to ask if this is a common side effect and does it slow down or stop after the coil has been in for a while or does the hair loss continue?

If it doesn't slow down or stop i will have to have the coil removed which is a shame as everything else about it seems fine.

What are your experiences of this please? x

Have you recently had a. Baby then had the coil fitted? My friend though it's was the coil causing her hair to fall out, but he dc was 18 weeks and it turned out it was just post party. Hair loss.

I searched this thread for the very same reason. 5 weeks of Mirena and hair loss similar to post-kids, but my son is 2.5... Is it related?
