advice needed, taking the pill without a break, what to do when i come on?

i am nearly at the end of my second month without a break. i think i have started to come on today, do i break for 7 days then start a new pack.
i cant remember what the doc told me.

finish the pack you are on then have 7 day pill free then start your new pack then

Really? I thought I should stop. Then have a 7 day break. Then start a new pack.
How would that work if I still had 1 week of pills to go?

Check with your doc but I'm pretty sure you will not be covered unless you finish the pack, irrespective of bleeding.

I would really check with your doctor. I think you are supposed to finish pack 2, have the 7 day break, then start pack 3 after this irrespective if whether you've had a bleed or not.

You don't have to take a break. The bleed you get on the pill isn't a proper period anyway, just a withdrawal bleed when you stop the hormones. Take 3 packets ina row without a break, then 7 days off, then 3 months again etc. Doesn't matter if you bleed or not, you are unlikely to but if you do it will die down on it's own.

I was on microgynon last year and took it quite a few months back to back and was fine

I tricycled for years. There is actually a lit if evidence to say you can take the pill safely indefinitely without a break, after all you can be pregnant and breastfeeding for years and not have periods with no I'll effects. The hormones stop you womb lining from building up in the first place so there is no "trapped blood" like some people wrongly presume. However just to err on the side of caution 3 months max is suggested as some women like to see a bleed every now and then (apparently) just to be reassured they are not pg etc.

Am I the only one who feels an awful lot better during the pill free week then? I understand the lure of missing a bleed but it's far nicer for me to not have to take the hormones for a week.

Hell no. I got my pmt back during the break. Felt so much better again when I started the new pack.
