I had sex, day 14 of a 28 day cycle, condom burst and didn't realise till it was too late, went and got morning after pill and took it within an hour! Really worried so was looking up stats on google and came across an article in the telegraph posted 6 days ago saying an expert has said it doesn't work on the few days in the month you are most fertile!! I can't post a link as I'm on my phone. Is there any truth in this? The pharmasist didn't mention anything at all like that. X

I don't think I should involve my parents into this...maybe I should go to the sex health centre as @minijellybeans suggested... business. The question is...when should I go? After 2 days...or should I go tmr?

emilyyyyy · 16/11/2015 14:53

I don't think I should involve my parents into this case and as the @minjjellybeans had suggested for me to go to the sex health centre to do some check up and further contraception but the question is when should I go? After 2 weeks or should I go like tmr or sth

MiniJellyBeans · 16/11/2015 20:47

Hi again Emily, no need to wait, just go as soon as you can, tomorrow is fine. The staff will be very used to seeing under-16's, and although they may encourage you to talk to your parents, they won't insist on it. You can have a chat about your relationship and your situation, and discuss future contraceptive options (and probably even get started on something straight away, depending on which method you choose). You'll probably be offered testing for sexually transmitted infections (no examination is necessary for this, by the way), although it can take 2 weeks after contracting chlamydia and gonorrhoea before the tests turn positive, and months for HIV and syphilis . As you know it's too soon to do the pregnancy test which will hopefully give you the reassurance you are looking for, but you can go back for that.

Hi I'm a 19 year old, and I'm a little worried if I could Ben pregnant as I started my pill yesterday and took my first one at 8pm but then 3hours later me and my partner had sex and he you know filled me, could I become pregnant because of this? Please someone help me.

Emma2803 · 07/04/2017 00:30

Depends where you are in your cycle. If you started it within a day or two of starting your period contraceptive cover is immediate. If you started it later then you should use a condom as well for the first seven days or you won't be protected and could get pregnant. Read the patient information leaflet in the box that came with the tablets.

Hello,

I have never signed up to anything like this but it seems as though I have no choice but to speak to people in a similar situation as me.

What happen:
On 3rd November 2017 I had my period and it lasted till 7th November and 8th it was just minor spotting and clearing up. On 9th November It was all cleared and I had sex, my fiance used protection (Condom) and for the first time ever it split. We both got so worried so right after the incident within the first hour we drove to pharmacy and purchased Lenovelle. I took it within the first hour.

According to the period calendar or rather ovulation calendar it says i will be fertile on 12th or 13 November.

I am a little worried. It is 11th November today and i took the pill at around 11.45pm on 9th November. The only possible side affects I had so far is that is mucus (not massive amounts) and very mild cramping just above my abdomen.

Can anybody please tell me if i have anything to worry about?
I am highly stressed out as I cannot fall pregnant just as yet due to certain things planned. I am very worried. I wish to hear.

Many thanks

Jenna

Hey, I’m 17 and I’m pretty nervous about becoming pregnant due to a split condom.
The incident occurred last night and I’m going to get the morning after pill as soon as the pharmacy opens.Ive read that being your most fertile can effect your chances of the morning after pill working , and I track my period on an app and it’s usually like clockwork which would mean I was day 19 of my cycle , likelyhood I was very fertile when it occurred. Just wondered if anyone else has experienced this before? Xmas Blush

Hi recently my girlfriend ovulated and then about 3 days later we had unprotected sex and I ended up ejaculating due to bad timing...she took the morning after pill within 14 hours but I'm really worried it won't work because she's already ovulated but at the same time ovulation takes place between 12-24 hours I believe? I really need help thanks !

Suey1982 · 02/03/2018 01:39

Hi everyone,

Wondering if someone can help please....I had unprotected sex with my boyfriend on day 6 of my cycle ( not my fertile week ) and took the morning after pill ( Levonelle ) in the afternoon on day 7 (also not my fertile week ) stupidly I ignored the doctor and had unprotected sex on days 10 and 11 which which is 3 and 4 days after taking the pill and is also the first 2 days of my fertile week.... getting light bleeding Now ( day 12 ) doc said this would happen after taking the pill.....is there a chance that I might be pregnant due to those first 2 fertile days despite bleeding the next day ??

So confused at the moment as I've never needed to take the morning after pill.

Lane1982 · 14/05/2018 10:48

I have four children and do not want anymore. Had a condom failure and took the morning after pill...it was at my most fertile time I've just found out I'm 3-4 weeks pregnant. I'm so gutted. I don't want anymore children but I'm not sure I could cope with the guilt if I terminated it. So confused and upset. ☹

Hi,guys.I had unprotected sex from Saturday(which was the 10th after my menstrual flow)in the night till this morning, after that I took the levonelle oral contraceptive pill at 9:00am today but am worried because this is my first time taking that pill.will I get pregnant?

Fodasse0 · 17/12/2018 17:32

I lost my virginity on 11/12 , and it was unprotected , he didn’t ejaculate in me . I took the morning after pill 3 hours later (just to be safe from pre ejaculation) . My period was due on the 14/12 , it’s been 3 days since I’ve taken the morning after pill and only today have I gotten a brownish spotting and I’ve been having really bad cramps and neusea . I’m not sure if it’s because I’ve been stressed as I think I’m pregnant .does the spotting mean I’m not pregnant?

TurquoiseDress · 20/12/2018 13:17

I think it's because if you're in the 'fertile phase' or whatever, you may have already ovulated so if you have unprotected sex then there is every chance fertilisation will take place even if you take a morning after pill a few/several hours later.

That;s why doctors/nurses always should ask you to find out where in your cycle you are. Think the copper coil is the best in terms of 'emergency contraception', you've got up to ?a week to get it fitted after unprotected sex.

LizzieSiddal · 20/12/2018 13:17

Fod

Would you be able to get a pregnancy test and take it?

How are the bad cramps now?
