Copper Coil - Positive Stories?

Hi,

I've been to the GP today to discuss contraception due to my age she has suggested I choose either coils or the implant. After much reading I'm wavering towards the Copper coil do to the fact it is non hormone based. I am concerned about the possibilities of infection plus stories of people being able to feel it!!!!

Can you please help me make a decision.

Thanks

Well went to the FPC today, they were able to fit me in and my coil is in place ok, they said the threads may just be longer this time and/or my cervix may be lower after having my 2nd baby. They also did a pg test and it was negative so hoping AF comes soon so I can relax!!!

I have one and love it. Hormone contraceptives send me loopy, and I love how low-maintenance the coil is. The periods are a wee bit longer but that's the only downside for me.
