Brownie badges - how many does/did your daughter get?

Just want to do a straw poll. 2 simple questions.

Roughly how many Brownie badges does/did your daughter get per term?

How many of those were as a result of activities organised by the brownie group?

dd has been going for about 18 months, enrolled Feb 09 and has roughly 4 badges , all done during the weekly session. I'm sure she would qualify for more (swimming, music etc) but tbh we haven't pushed it.

Usually 1 or 2 interest badges per term, plus any badges for outside events (this weekend we took 14 girls to a local bird reserve open day where they achieved their brownie explorer badge and te wild about wensum bage which had been made just for te event) plus 3 or 4 interest badges worked on in her spare time.

3 or 4 badges in her own time per term .

DD has been a Brownie for 18 months and has 10 badges. She did one at home and the rest at Brownies, either at meetings or at 'do a badge in a day' events. I am Brown Owl so she has to come on the outings.

Why do you ask, YMKM? Do you think your dd does too many or too few? The thinking now is that the Brownies should choose their activities, so compulsory badge-doing isn't really in tune with that. But our pack does do badges together because hardly anyone ever does a badge in their own time and I think that they are missing a big chunk of the Brownie experience if they don't get some badges.

DD has been going for over 6 months and hasn't even had her promise ceremony yet (grr).

Her Brown Owl was really crap, but has fortunately now left and her new one is lovely.

bunch of flowers....I ask because I am currently doing my ALQ [gulp]....just wondering where we should target. In the last 4 years the current brown owl has done 2 structured badge events as far as we can tell.

Myself and the new members of the leadership team what to incorperate more badges...but obviously not overdo it.

I was thinking that aiming for about 1-2 per term was about right...I think that we will be doing 3 this term.

Good for you, ladies! We need new leaders.

There is a Guiders' tea room thread but it's been very quiet recently, maybe we should revive it?

Sure....point us in the right direction...
