streetdancing vs hip hop?

dd after giving up ballet as definitely not her thing years ago, is now all aflame for hip hop (sort of thing). I see streetdance and hip hop advertised.

What is the difference? Anyone know?

I also see creative dance 8-12 advertised. I'm presumning that is more like jazz dance.

What dd likes seems to involve wearing baggy trousers, one leg inside a sock, the other out and a baseball cap on back to front.

I'm too old to know what it is all about. She says she likes "samba hip hop" and I can't find out anything at all about that.

Sometimes its just the music that is different.

Hip hop is faster and harder and uses break dance and body popping.

Street dance is an easier version of hip hop with less break dance.

Body popping is best explained with a youtube video! That is crazy body popping but hip hop uses a lot of it.

FWw i often dance in baggy trousers with one leg inside my sock (well leg warmer!)....its because i am using the heel of that foot a lot and don't want to slip on my arse !!
