I was on there for a while, to be honest there are very few things that I would apply for - DD went for an audition for the latest Chris Tarrant kids' show, I got a job as an extra in an M&S training video. I didn't find it worth it as there were so many "casting calls" which were basically just adverts for new agencies, or unpaid student films.

Have you tried appling to a modelling/acting agency?

Starnow isn't a con but there are undoubtedly people advertising on there who are not always what they seem.

Many legitimate people advertise, I have advertised for teachers myself. The person advertising the job does not have to pay anything and does not get anything in terms of financial reward.

People will often be looking for something very specific and in the world of casting you often don;t hear things, or projects get shelved or funding falls through.

I have never payed the fee for my own dd but I do get wind of a lot of things on the notapushymum website.
