Does anyone have a son play netball.......

My son and his friend have been selected for the school netball team..which in these enlightened times is good non-discrimination.

..but its so long since I played netball I still see it as a girls sport.

...am guessing not any more. Though when I played at school we did get quite rough!

PS.. the permission slip the teacher sent hom to play in a tournament asked them to wear netball skirts.. Amsued me!

I've been told (my someone on mumsnet) all children regardless of gender play netball in state schools these days, except they often call it high sevens rather than netball. No reason not to, but they need to ammend their permission slips! Hope he enjoys it.

Ds (Y6) plays netball at school every Monday afternoon (after school club) Apparently there are 5 boys there as one boy in ds's class did a great job of recruiting fellow boys
Ds loves it!
