thanks LIZS. DD has been to one of her friends place to play today and they played on moshimonsters but I checked the website but not happy so I told her I will find someother sites to play not necessarily educational.

Club Penguin.

Poisson Rouge is fantastic - Its a vast vast site, aimed at pre literate children but older ones adore it too.

Show me is another brilliant site bringing together all the cool stuff from UK museums and galleries for kids.

We also use starfall, poissonrouge and club penguin. The first 2 are a bit educational, club penguin is just fun but with a bit of problem solving.

Have you gone on to The Mouse Club? www.themouseclub.co.uk - a free website with no ads and loads to do. Games, stories and fun activities, my kids love it!

We discovered club penguin after a mumsnetter suggested it as a way of keeping in touch with friends. DD age 7 absolutely loves it & it teaches the value of money too!!

Lego. They have their own message boards, mind, so social networking slips in there.
DS (9) has lots of friends on there.
