Difference between National Youth Choir and NCCGB for a 15-year-old singer

My daughter is 15 and enjoys singing, solo and choir. Has attended residential choir courses twice and is working towards ABRSM Grade 8

She wants to audition for the National Youth choir 15-18

How different are these two?

What genre is your dd interested in? Maybe see if you can find out the sort of repertoire covered by each, as one might appeal more than the other.

I don't want to be rude about NCCCB because it's really really great, but the real answer is that NYC is of a higher standard with a more demanding classical programme and a conscious and managed transition to young professional careers in music.

My daughter just did NYC 15-18 for the first time, and whilst she enjoyed it, she says the standard of sight reading was pitiful and she was bored with days of waiting for people to learn the music. She enjoyed the concert and meeting other people, but it isn't a particularly high standard!

My DC is in NYCGB and has also done the Rodolfus courses. Rodolfus is their favourite.

We have friends with DC in NCCGB, and it sounds almost identical to NYC

Just from comparing the two websites it looks like NYC goes to a higher age (specifically has an 18+ choir) and may be bigger as it offers two course locations rather than one. Not sure if either is correct in reality.
