Postpartum hobbies/ fitness ideas

Hello,

I’m 10 months postpartum and like a lot of mums I feel as though I have little hobbies / goals to work towards when I have free time, and I’m looking for ideas or suggestions that have worked for you.

Prior to being pregnant I was exercising regularly and doing home workouts. I’d like to get back into fitness and work towards some kind of goal or take part in something that has regular events. I don’t have half marathons/ marathons in me (and also don’t have the time to train!) and not too keen on anything super competitive but that’s maybe just because I’d find it intimidating 🙈.

I’d love to hear any general hobbies / exercise focused hobbies that you take part in and get fulfilment from!

Is running a definite no go? I can’t recommend it enough and perfect for having no childcare too! Get yourself a running buggy and then you can train whenever you fancy. I have a 2 year old & a nearly 8 month old so now have a double running buggy and just run with them both and it is really fab, much easier to be consistent rather than classes where you need to find time for someone to look after the kids for you etc! You don’t have to train for a huge distance either, park run is 5k, lots of 10k’s dotting about, even just being able to run a mile is something to celebrate!

You could start off with floor barre. That will get your core strength going again.

Second the running buggy! We do a running nap to the fancy bakery on Sunday morning while dad has a lie in
