Recommendations for a street dance school in West London for children

Hi all,

I’m looking for recommendations for a proper street dance school for my DD in or around West London (happy to travel within a reasonable distance).

Ideally, I’m looking for a long course rather than drop-in sessions, where children can build a solid foundation in street dance styles, including breaking, popping and locking, with a focus on musicality and progression over time.

I wouldn’t want it to be about just copying choreography – it’s important to me that they encourage creativity, freestyle, and developing own style and confidence.

If anyone has experience with local dance schools that strike this balance, I’d really appreciate any recommendations.

Thank you!

@GentleMintCat How old is your dd and how much dance experience does she have already?

11 year old with little experience.

Do you have a local facebook group for your district/area of London? It might be worth asking for recommendations on there.

I'm not familiar with street, so can't advise other than that, but it could also be worth looking at schools which do contemporary dance.
