Dance bag for teen

I would like to buy DD a really nice new dance bag for her birthday. At the moment she has a navy Monsoon one and it looks too young for her now.

She isn't the sort to notice the brands the other girls have so keen for some recommendations please. Would you go for a dance brand such as Bloch or stick with tote bag from somewhere such as gymshark, Nike etc etc?

It needs to fit jazz shoes, musical theatre heels, ballet slippers and pointe shoes in.

Does the dance school have its own bag?

My daughter was given a Freed bag - but now that a group of them are regularly travelling to London, she would like the school’s bag to match. To be fair, the school’s bag does look good quality and is the perfect size for needs.

If there isn’t, or she’s not bothered - it looks like Freed has a sale on - store.freedoflondon.com/accessories-bags

Will she use a special dance one? My teen won’t, where she dances she says that’s what the little kids use, and the serious teen dancers don’t. She has a random unbranded tote bag.

My daughter has one that has a separate zipped (and ventilated!) section at the bottom for ballet slippers, tap and character shoes. Pointe shoes go in their own bag and laid in the op of the main section. Lots of internal pockets for accessories. It's lasted her well.
Main section has enough space for warm up clothes, character skirt etc.
it gets thrown around all over the place, so get something sturdy!

My DD is in professional training so carts around ballet, pointe, jazz, tap and character shoes. Along with Can can boots. Plus multiple types of leotard, tights, music folder and iPad.
She has used this bag for the last two years and it is still in excellent condition. She loves the multiple pockets so shoes can have their own place and she can find stuff quickly to change. She travels by public transport to college each day and says it is easy to carry.
She says no one at college uses 'dance bags' the only proper bags she has are for her La Duca shoes and boots to stop them getting scratched.

Thank you!

She is still very happy with her Monsoon children's one, it's me who thinks it looks too young! I think she would use a 'proper' dance bag...the school only does a printed on canvas type shopping bag. She has one but specifically uses it for taking her stuff to sleepovers.

They have this one in our local dance shop which looks suitably subtle but also nice??

The Bloch ones look good too.

She also swims competitively and uses a big Nike hold-all for that but it's never occurred to her to take it dancing save for when they are doing a show and she needs more space.

My daughter used to like her Bloch one that had ventilated sections for shoes.

It is good to have one with a pocket at one end for a water bottle. Keeps it upright, and the last thing you need is water leaking over pointe shoes. The stiffish holdalls with a flat base that still hold their shape when opened are easier to rummage around in, and an interior zip pocket is handy for things like a sewing kit and hairpins.

By the way, is she in the habit of taking her pointe shoes out of her bag and hanging them up by the ribbons to dry overnight? They last a lot longer that way.
