Hi there, did anyone audition for NYMT and get told No? I’m starting to think they take everyone and find something to charge them for 🫤🤷‍♀️🙈

Don’t criticise NYMT on here. You will get shot down🤣🤣.
It is a very good organisation with very talented kids involved.
I do have to admit, however that in my experience, the older you are the more difficult it becomes to get cast.
There is definitely a clique at the older ages and many that are cast are already at drama schools.
Just my experience. I wish everyone cast good luck 😀

My son got a no the first year he auditioned.

If you go onto the long running (it's been running since at least 2019) threads then you will find plenty of parents whose children have been given no's. However a lot of people join the threads once their child has been given a recall so the odds are higher.

This year it appears that recall young people who have a no for an actual show have been offered a workshop instead. Anyone without a recall has always been able to book onto a non auditioned skills workshop.

My son has had a fantastic two years with NYMT but I know a young person who did not have such a good experience (it was a one off situation and pastoral care was outstanding regardless).

Any updates on this? We've got an audition coming up. I'm almost hoping it's a no, it looks very expensive !
