Recommendations for places to have pointe shoes fitted in SW please?.

Dd is so excited and wants to arrange a trip with other friends from dance as they're just starting pointe work. We want to make it a special occasion for them and looking for recommendations. We are in NDevon however prepared to travel and make a day out of it!

Have you asked her dance teacher? DD’s dance teacher has recommended where to go because she knows the manager and that they do thorough and good fittings - first fitting takes around an hour so could be a long wait in a group. The dance teachers usually want to check them before you sew on ribbons etc. so you don’t want to go too far in case you have to take them back. The dance teachers at our dance school usually go with them to check the fitting there and then. (And they like seeing that first moment too!)

My DD went with her ballet teacher and few others who were also going on pointe. It was a really lovely milestone and they got lots of lovely photos together in their first pointe shoes. The fitter was excellent and DD has had no issues with her shoes. I am sure the ballet teacher will advise you.

Thanks everyone. The person their dance teacher used is no longer in business and this is the first group since. Her dance teacher did say she thought there was someone good in Bristol..

Bristol would be ok if we made a day ot it.
