Lego after school club

Ds1 struggles to join clubs, and currently his school only offer sports activities. I thought of starting a lego club, as might provide options for quieter less sporty kids.

Has anyone set one up? Thinking we could ask for donations of mixed lego, then set creative challenges eg tallest Tower, build a spaceship etc. However, I'm no lego buff so anything technical is beyond me. Would this matter? Any ideas/ advice for helping it run smoothly? I have a few other mums who said they'd help, but not sure what we'd actually do beyond provide a pile of lego!

providing a pile of lego may be all you need to do...
you could also have some work cards with challenges on them for those who need a bit more direction... but the best form of lego is imagination driven, so let the kids just play...
