Hello would like some advice please, my daughter is 7 years old and has language processing challenges as well as a slight stammer. However she loves singing and would like to get more than one line in the school plays( what she currently gets) i was thinking should I get her elocution lessons? We have a stage coach and musical theatre near us ( Stevenage) but all have limited availability
also I have not found any elocution lessons nearby so would have to do it online is it worth it online?

Would speech and language therapy not be more appropriate? And then get her on the waiting lists for drama and singing if that's what interests her.

Yes I think a speech therapist would be better, my son has/had a stammer and we found a wonderful speech therapist, he helped him enormously.

Stagecoach and musical theatre just work on confidence and stage skills. Sounds like you need a SALT with expertise in helping with a stammer

Op I would speak to ICan the speech and language charity - they have a lovely speech therapist called John that you can book a helpline session with, if you ring them.

I'd go for SALT and also a drama club. Both could be really useful in different ways.

Thank you for your responses, so she did speech therapy remotely with Mabel for a year and we saw no difference. She has also been to an NHS speech therapist but we were only given a 6 week course and told we are back on the waiting list for me. I will contact Ican thanks
