What activities do your boys do?

DS is 4.5 and is keen to start some clubs.

He is on the waiting list for swimming.

He loves music and dancing. I'm not sure he'd be ready to start and instrument at this age though? Perhaps I'm underestimating him.

What do your boys do?!

4 years old does ballet, swimming and goes to an arts club once per week.
10 years old does martial arts and football.
20 years old did rugby and swimming, he now plays tennis with his girlfriend.

If he loves dance why not dancing?

Bemyclementine · 02/04/2023 17:44

Boys aged 6 and 7. Beavers, swimming , dance.

Hersetta427 · 07/04/2023 17:02

Mine did swimming only whilst in reception. Then he started football and basketball. Still playing both in yr 7.

At 4 - swimming, gymnastics, piano and ballet

Now at 9 - swimming, cubs, piano, football, performing arts, tennis and guitar. We have a busy after school schedule!

DS is 4 (nearly 5). He's been doing swimming since a baby & still does. He also does gymnastics (he started that just before Christmas. We'll probably get him to do another soon, but he wants to do archery like his sister but can't until he's 7.

Eldest (12) - swimming, scouts, cornet lessons, stem club, band and aerial hoop.
Middle (10) - swimming, scouts, golf, rugby.
youngest (7) - swimming, beavers, golf, rugby. He used to do gym and dance too, but gave those up in the end. He wants to do martial arts at some point!

Mine did :
wind band
youth orchestra
music centre
football
hockey
cricket
beavers/cubs/scouts

not all at the same time and some were more his thing than others. Music and hockey were the long standing ones.

My boys are 3 & 5 and both do swimming & athletics. DS2 also does gymnastics and DS1 does karate.

SiouxsieSiouxStiletto · 17/04/2023 19:28

Cricket is a good one at that age @raindances as it usually only runs from now until the Summer Holidays.

Your local Cricket Clib could tell you what they've got on. It's usually called training but it's really running around in the sun whilst you enjoy refreshments Wink

At 4 my DS1 and DD only did swimming. They have since done skateboarding and to gymnastics together but both stopped in lockdown. DS1 (11) now does parkour and DD (8) does karate and drama. DS2 (4) does nothing yet, tried swimming but he hates it so we'll try again after he starts school in September.
I have no idea how some of you manage to fit in all these activities for your DC! You must be much more organised than me.

Yuja · 17/04/2023 19:37

DS 7 does beavers (cubs in September) and 2 x swimming per week with a club. We don't do music and he's not showing much interest so probably won't

Comefromaway · 18/04/2023 15:51

At that age he did Gymbobs. We tried him with Stagecoach but it didn't work out for him (dd loved it).

As he got older he did football, violin, then hockey. Then at secondary he dropped violin and did guitar for a couple of years before finally settling on piano. Then joined a musical theatre group, and did drama, singing and tap at a local dance school. Dropped the dance eventually to concentrate more on music.
