Hi, my DS14 is meant to be playing bass guitar in his first proper gig in 10 days...and broke two bones in his arm today....it's his right arm...is there ANY way he can play...he's devastated - he couldn't play at the last gig because he had covid..and now this. His dad died 6 months ago, so it's just one shit thing after another- he's very talented and music is helping him a lot..he is playing 12 songs...he's the only bass player in the show...would it be really bad of him to even try to play. agghhh. it just always goes wrong for him.

So sorry to hear he’s having such a tough time.
I think it depends how bad the break is. My DD broke her arm, but needed surgery and couldn’t even write with that arm for a long time. Maybe the hospital can advise?

Hope it isn't a bad break and that he can still manage to play. Music is such a good emotional support when life is tough.

Where is his pot up to? If it is below his elbow & he can work his fingers without pain then if he can have a practice without pain then maybe.

Ask his doctor if it’s advisable
