D of E - is this a normal wait for sign off?

DD did their expedition at the end of April, the group did their presentation about it at the end of June. By the time they did the presentation, she had finished and submitted Physical, Skill and Volunteering sections and they were already marked off as Completed by her Assessor on the website. So doing the Expedition presentation and submitting that was the very last piece. We assumed it would get approved by the Assessor fairly quickly as they said on the day that they were happy with it but nothing happened. After 3 weeks, DD sent a message asking if there was anything else for her to do in order for it to be approved, no answer. Sent again 2 weeks later and this time the Assessor approved it and said that they would send it in. 3 weeks on and it is still just showing on the edofe as all the sections completed.

DD really wants to start Silver as her Physical and Volunteering choices have restarted now for the 22/23 season and she can't count the sessions that she's doing now. If it takes much longer, she'll have trouble doing the 9 month one as the remaining season won't be 9 months (assuming she can't backdate what she's doing now to include it for her Silver, she's assuming sessions will only count from when she's registered for Silver?).

Is this a normal timescale? It's new to her and she doesn't know if they're being a bit slack or if this is how it is or if there are some other D of E rules that we're not aware of.

It's been years since I did mine, but I would assume the assessor is just being tardy. I'd chase again.

Is D of E leader a teacher? That could be impacting it?

Not a teacher, she's done D of E with Scouts. If it was school or a council provider etc we'd have chased more but I'm always very conscious that Scout leaders are volunteers so we try not to bother them. But 2 months after she finished it seems a long wait to me and is impacting the next stage hence wondering what was typical. Everything was finished 3 weeks before our Scouts broke for summer.

No, it shouldn't take this long.
It could have been signed off once the presentation was done in June. I understand that obviously, being volunteers (as the overwhelming majority of Teachers are if they do it through schools in truth) then it might not happen that day or even that week, but the polite chase up e-mail should have given them a nudge.
There is probably a DofE Lead within your Scout District or County. Try googling to see if you can find a website......look on your dd's uniform, on the right arm and there will be a double badge, or two badges which give you the name of the District and the County, and e-mail them, asking if there is someone who can help.
Explain, like you have done hear that she needs to be registered for the Silver, to start the activities she is doing to count for the next award, but is being held up by the fact the assessor hasn't signed off the bronze. Explain that the expedition was in April and the presentation in June and that your dd had followed it up after 3 weeks asking if there was anything else needed.
Yes, they are volunteers, but they are volunteering to do the role and then not doing it.
I volunteer with Scouts and would very happily follow up this query for you if you were in my District.
