I've drawn a blank from sending out emails. Any guidance / advice appreciated.

For what age and purpose?

A young beginner? Someone already trained?

Many student singers at conservatoires teach at some time during their studies - and are always keen to take on new tutees. So the Opera department of your nearest conservatoire might be the best place to try. Enquiring via Twitter would probably get results.

7 is too young to learn operatic singing technique. A serious teacher won't teach it to an immature voice as it will damage the voice.

If your child is wanting to look at classical singing then what about a cathedral choir - will teach all the essentials and set them up for life.

Are they already receiving all round musical training?

Tbh if they ‘live to sing’ and are objectively talented it might be better for them to attend a specialist music school - or at least junior conservatoire at weekends (once they’re at the right age). Singing without music training would be worse than useless. (And a singing tutor possibly wouldn’t want to teach them in isolation.) But obviously I don’t know the situation of the child!

Dear all, I very much appreciate your contributions. I will give the matter some serious consideration given the salient points highlighted. MN is truly a great community
