guitar for Rock and Pop

DS is going to start year 6 from September and wants to play Rock and Pop guitar. He will be learning online from an app but I am not sure which type of guitar to buy for him. Any recommendations would be helpful. Thanks

What's your budget? As well as an electric guitar, you'll also need to buy a practice amp.

I am thinking around £250 to £300. Is there anything I can buy? If it’s more expensive than we will try and save some money during holidays 😀

If you live anywhere near Brighton, the people at GAK are infinitely patient and have guitars for all budgets. Try them out and see what feels right. DD spent about 3 hours there and they stuck to my budget in terms of what they showed her.

You can definitely get something really decent plus an amp for under £300.

Acoustics have been rather more expensive... but electrics are easier to learn on.
