Does anyone have experience of Pineapple dance summer school?

Looking for feedback from anyone who’s DC have done the summer school at Pineapple dance in London.

My DD is 11 and quite a talented dancer and gymnast - not looking for professional training but wanted her to have a go at something a bit more specialised than the local dance school she goes to weekly. She’s also in a gymnastics squad (not the most competitive levels) and trains 4 hours a week but looking for something over the summer more focused on dance. She’s not really into singing so not looking for musical theatre courses.

Anyone got any views on Pineapple? Thank you

Sorry I don't know anyone who has done their summr school. My daughter used to do either specialist ballet ones or ones at dance colleges she was thinking of applying to later on. I believe the summer school and kids courses are run separately to the main studios.

At that age, my dd did local youth ballet (auditioned, but not massively high standard) for a week in the holidays, plus whatever summer offering our local dance schools had. One year we got lucky and EYB was local to us with two weeks of rehearsals in the summer, so it would be worth checking them out as they go all around the country.

You could also look at things like NYB and LCB, depending how good she is and what you can afford and where you live. We never did them, but dd has friends who enjoyed them.

It’s hard to find dance opportunities that aren’t ballet for that age, so it depends if she’s keen enough on ballet.
