Talk to me about go karting

DS is nearly 14 and is absolutely and completely passionate about motor racing. He has been go karting for a couple of years, on and off obviously, and taking it more seriously now with local league competitions etc. It's driving me up the wall TBH, I hate it, but try to support him as best as I can, mostly by driving him and spending a big chunk of our budget. He still hasn't got any equipment, except a neck brace, we use the club's suits etc and he's the only racer without his own kit at league races. Do you order stuff online and which website do you recommend?

DH works shifts and it's me who takes DS most weeks, two or three times a week now. If your DC is into go karting, how do you plan for it? How often? Equipment? Training? How do you cope with the boredom of watching teenagers going around a race track for hours? TIA!
