Music Theory Grade 5 (Abrsm)

Hi,
My DD (15) has done grade 5 guitar & singing but now can't progress without passing her theory. She hasn't really done any theory since she was about 8. We bought the new format Abrsm grade 5 books on recommendation from school but it is clear that they assume knowledge of the previous grades. Can anyone suggest a single book that will get her as easily as possible to the point of being able to fully understand the Abrsm practice book and through the test? thanks

Second the recommendation of take 5 and pass first time. I teach G5 theory and this is the book I use.

Thanks both for the recommendation. So this will cover everything from grade1 up?

Yes this book is excellent. It covers everything that's tricky. I think a few German musical terms have been added to the syllabus since the book was written just check the ABRSM website for the full list.

We just worked through the new format Abrsm books (got the answer books) - from
Grade 1 upwards to grade 5. Doing same with Ds aged 9. Then at end practice papers and few sessions with a tutor. Got dd a distinction. The tutor just had really helpful mnemonics etc and exam technique.

My daughter (9) worked through the ABRSM books from 1-5. She has a tutor who works with her on composition and theory and in the two months building up to the exam they focused on covering the theory for grade 5. It wasn't a huge amount of work and she got a distinction. She's really young so an older child can potentially cover this on their own without a tutor...?
