Good morning!

Could anyone recommend me a ballet school for my 15 year old daughter?

We are moving into this area Poole/Bournemouth/Wimborne next year and she has been dancing ballet since she was 5.

Any suggestions?

Thank you!!!Smile

What level is she dancing at, has she done exams and if so, which exam board? Is she aiming for a professional career in dance or is it just a hobby?

It is a hobby she really enjoys and takes it seriously, but she has not taken exams or anything
I will have a look at your suggestion. Thank you so much!

Have a look at WABS (Western Association of Ballet Schools)

There are loads of schools to choose from. Even if she isn't taking exams then it would help to know what board her old dance school have been following.

Mix of different boards offered in the area, I can recommend RAD, ARBTA and ISTD schools if you want to PM me. I do know of one school that teaches IDTA ballet.

Thank you! Good to know that there are many options. We will have a look around when we visit to the ones you suggest so we can decide.
We currently live in Spain so we can't really relate to any UK boards. But she will be happy to know she can keep in dancing!

oh well in that case you can pretty much choose anywhere then without worrying about having to change syllabus. There is a quite a good range of schools which focus on different things, some do a lot of shows, some do just exams with not much in the way of performance work, others are a bit of a mix of both. Variety of standards of teaching too. Also depends if she wants to just do ballet or other dance styles too. My girls are a bit younger but very happy to chat with you if you want any info. we live in Bournemouth.
