What’s the equivalent of brownies/rainbows for boys?

I did girl guides as a teen and am aware of brownies and rainbows for younger girls but what is there for boys? My son is four and we plan to home educate so something like this would be great for him

Beavers, Cubs then Scouts.

im not sure if hes old enough for beavers yet. What about a forest school in your local park?

Beavers, cubs, scouts - for boys and girls usually. Boy's brigade is boys only and Christian based. Woodcraft folk for both I think, no experience of it.

Beavers is from 6.
It is really an add on to school though, an hour a week. My DS goes and enjoys it but it's not something he really takes much away from at his age!
If you want something that's more of a regular group to spend longer hours with a home schooling group could work well.

as people have said above, beavers but not till he is 6. or there may be a Woodcraft Folk in your area which (like cubs etc nowadays) is for boys and girls - there is where I live although I don't know much about how old they have to be etc; mine both go to cubs/scouts, my boy and my girl.

It might be worth getting his name down for beavers if you want him to do it - there are long waiting lists in some areas. It starts a year or so later than rainbows.

I was a brownie and went to a different school to everyone else in the pack, and found it quite isolating. But maybe other packs are more mixed.

Thanks - we already do forest school and local home ed group, this is just an extra. No one seems to go to boys brigade etc so I was wondering. We live in the middle of a town so it’s likely the group we go to would take kids from at least two different schools

I agree with putting his name down for beavers and also for badgers with St. John's Ambulance if you have one in your area, though in the last couple of years they've moved their entry age from 5 to 7. My kids are in the latter and there are a few HE kids in the group and kids from many different schools (my older daughter was previously in rainbows and had issues similar to TheMincePiesAreMine even though we're in a city, it's one of those can be great but it's a group by group things, I think).

Boys Brigade? Our local company takes boys from P1 (Scotland), so 5, or almost 5 if the boys are young in their school year.

Our local BB company also takes kids from a number of different local schools. I quite like that because it means the kids have a greater range of friends.

How old is he? Maybe look at things like sea cadets, emergency service cadets ect if he is older
