Grade 6 music theory

We may attempt this as children are keen. They got excellent results in grade 5 and want to do it. I know about My Music Theory and Music Matters Theory but just wanted to know if people have opinions on best way to self teach (definitely can't afford weekly lessons). Our children self taught grade 5 with online help and they spend lots of time composing themselves, so I think the will is there!

I will follow this thread with interest for any tips.

DD has just started with some Grade 6 material after passing Grade 5 in November.

We are planning on taking our time with this as she is doing it 'for fun' and feel as though the pressure is off now that Grade 5 is out of the way.

She has started working through Anna Butterworth's 'Harmony in Practice' a bit at a time.

Following because I need advice as well. My eldest girl loves music theory. She is taking music theory grade 1 next year. Which books do you recommend using for music theory? She is a complete novice. Is it a good idea to find a teacher or not?

Following because I'm thinking of doing this myself.

I passed Grade 5 theory in November and really got the bug . I'm thinking of having a go at trying to teach myself in the New Year using MyMusicTheory and see how I get on. I'll order a copy of Harmony in Practice and give that a look too.
