PVG check...how do I know piano teacher has one?

So my DD (13) and DS (11) are just about to start with a new piano teacher. He has a website and it says hes PVG checked...how do actually know he is...just because he says he is???

Is that Scottish DBS check? He should have a certificate I would think? Contact the dept that runs the PVG scheme in Scotland and ask.
