Traditionally for many years MN has had an audition thread; so here it is as the auditions start in a few days 😀

Good to know - I'm more nervous about this than DD, I think. I need to get a grip. :)

Radiodependent · 04/02/2019 08:30

Kc my ds is in under 10s this year and has been before - not sure how pms work but we can probably answer any queries he has. Is your son doing a regional?

kcmamma · 04/02/2019 09:05

Yes he's doing the London Junior regionals :-)

NeleusTheStatue · 04/02/2019 10:10

When are we supposed to hear from NCO for the Easter course? We selected the automatic payment starting from this month but haven't been contacted for bank details yet... Should I call them to double check if DS's definitely on the list? ConfusedHe isn't going to the regional this year so the lack of contact make me wonder if our acceptance went through properly...

Radiodependent · 04/02/2019 10:36

Kc so is my ds (bass player), hopefully there will be plenty of U10s there, it starts this Sunday doesn't it. What does your ds play?

Radiodependent · 04/02/2019 10:38

Neleus, don't know about Easter course but last year we often heard about things quite late. You could call the office if worried though?

kcmamma · 04/02/2019 10:54

He plays violin - meeting someone who’s doing the residential would be great this weekend - we’ll look out for the bass players Smile

NeleusTheStatue · 04/02/2019 11:44

Thanks Radiodependent. I'll call the office. Enjoy your musical weekend! Smile

Radiodependent · 04/02/2019 12:09

Kc yes I think there are at least two bass players from U10s.

littleladsdad · 06/02/2019 12:23

Hope you got things sorted out Neleus - our first payment was taken a few days ago.

NeleusTheStatue · 06/02/2019 14:43

Thanks littleladsdad. Yes it's now sorted - phew. We chose 6 instalments. So the extra hundreds are taken away for the next 5 months from now on... Grin

ThreeAndUs · 07/02/2019 09:19

DS is looking forward to South Easterlies this weekend. Who here alsl has DC attending SE regionals? Smile

Boyskeepswinging · 07/02/2019 09:52

@ThreeAndUs South Easterlies is on Sunday 17th Feb, not this weekend!

ThreeAndUs · 07/02/2019 10:41

Yes I meant next weekend but for some reason typed this weekend. So...anyone going next weekend?

Boyskeepswinging · 07/02/2019 11:04

Phew! I had visions of you wandering around Richard Collyer wondering where everyone was!

littleladsdad · 07/02/2019 11:22

Neleus Glad it's sorted! We're doing the 6 months too - ouch! Grin

methers · 07/02/2019 11:54

The email with full details of the London Junior Regional Orchestra sessions just arrived. I've made a Spotify playlist of the music they're doing, in case it's useful to anyone else:

Enjoy!

Luckyfab · 07/02/2019 15:47

@methers
Wow you're so technologic, thank you!
Do they play all those pieces in one day?
The rehearsal is not very long, 3 1/2 hrs including break for lunch.
DD is so looking forward to it... and me too!!!

TrumpetVoluntary · 07/02/2019 21:27

DD is going to Southeasterlies too - but I think you already knew that ThreeAndUs! Looking forward to finding out what they are playing this year.

PQ77 · 09/02/2019 15:09

@methers thanks so much! My DH was going to hunt down the music tonight so you’ve saved him a job. What a star.

Radiodependent · 09/02/2019 15:52

Methers, thanks we are definitely going to look at that playlist later! (Haven't listened to anything yet due to school rehearsals yesterday, Saturday school rehearsals with a really tricky piece today and a party....)

sunnyflowergarden · 11/02/2019 10:32

Hi all. I am kind of new here. I have DD who is 13 and loves music. She plays viola, clarinet, self teaching piano and ukulele.
I am not musical at all and thought playing in local orchestra and in school orchestra is probably all she can do but after reading here found out there are so many opportunities out there I had no idea about.
I have managed to book her in NYO Inspire day so probably will see some of you around on 24th March.

Boyskeepswinging · 11/02/2019 17:39

Hi there sunny! What instrument is your DD playing at Inspire?

sunnyflowergarden · 11/02/2019 18:08

Hi Boyskeepswinging! She will play viola.
Is your child going too?

Boyskeepswinging · 11/02/2019 18:10

Unfortunately not in March. Percussion was oversubscribed (for about the first time in living memory!). So we're hoping for better luck in July.
