Traditionally for many years MN has had an audition thread; so here it is as the auditions start in a few days 😀

NYOS interloper here! We got a no for the junior, my nerves were not up for taking much more waiting, but she's on the reserve list, whatever that means in practice! Her teacher was able to share that he never actually got in despite many attempts and he plays in a national professional orchestra so not the end of the world! We'll try again next year, it hasn't put her off. She was offered place on their training wind ensemble so will investigate that.

Same here - place in regionals but reserve for the Main U10s (Violin)

Well done everyone lots of fab under 10s results and if it’s a reserve place and regionals then that’s really good too
Feeling really nervous for ds now but reckon it will be at least Thursday or even Friday for mains - so that means I have to keep focussed ( whilst worrying !!) for 2 or maybe even 3 more nativity plays !!
Actually doing the plays is quite good as whilst I’m at work I’m having to concentrate so hard on keeping the children together I ( almost) forget about it

A yes here (under 10 violin) !!! DD1 is dancing around in the kitchen.

Commiserations to the ones who didn’t get in. I know how hard everyone has worked for this.

can i ask - are the U10s for 2019 , 9 or younger in August 2018 or is that wrong?

So mine turned 9 at the end of August 2018 and was in for the U10s auditions

oh right -i can’t remember if there was somewhere on the form for which one - mine turned 10 2 weeks ago so maybe it is U11?

U10 is school years 3, 4 and 5.
U11 year 6
U12 year 7
U13 year 8
Main year 9
A few exceptional children go up one more more years though.

just answered my own question - it would be U11....

Mimu - it goes with school years, so your DC will be U10s

thanks all that is helpful but we haven’t heard anything today when all the u10s seem to have done... oh well....

All U10 results might not be out yet. Or your DCS might be needed for U11.

thanks - i wasn’t stressed at all about this until today - (still not fussed over the outcome but it’d be nice to know and be done) - it is a shame they can’t all come together or at least in a particular order.

Commiserations to those DCs that didn't get in this year but as the others have said we'll all be doing it again next year. Congratulations to all that got in. We'll hopefully meet each other at regionals What a day of waiting...so u11s tomorrow I'm presuming.
