Any recommendations on which digital piano - brand and model to buy. Also where in London or around London is reasonably priced place to go see before deciding. Thank you

Personally I like the Yamaha digital pianos, I've got the YDP-181, not sure if they still make it? It's the highest of the range before you get into Clavinova so you get much of the same tech for a lower price. I'd say go to a shop I.e musicroom and try their pianos out, that way you know what you like and what will suit you best? :) Happy shopping!

I've got a clavinova, and I love it. My mum, who's a piano teacher, was always very scathing of electric pianos until she played mine - she thought the touch was lovely

Digital Rolands are the best but they tend to be more expensive than Yamahas. Model - depends on your budget, but I would look at £800+ models. Our digital Roland sounds better than our teacher's acoustic grand piano, but ours is top of the range.

When i researched digital pianos a year ago, Kawai seemed to be an option worth considering. There are a lot of quite detailed reviews online so have a search. I think as the pp says, you get what you pay for.

We got an acoustic piano in the end and don't regret it. It really doesnt take up that much more space, though it is of course much less portable.

You will not go wrong with any of the Yamaha, Roland or Kawai models, it is a matter of preference but unless you are a professional musician in all honesty you will not be able to notice a difference.
