I'm looking for an online coding course for my 8 year old girls. Happy to pay a subscription. Any recommendation would be great!

Do they have any previous programming experience?

If not then google resources for learning to programme in Scratch, which is a language specifically created to enable young children to learn the basics of coding.

You don't have to start with Scratch, but I think it's useful to have some sort of first approach to writing algorithms without having to worry too much about programme language syntax. Scratch looks simple (it uses programming "building blocks") but you can do fun things with it. My teenage son - who has quite a lot of self-taught programming experience in other languages - has written games in scratch for school projects.

You should also have a look to see if there are any coding clubs or fablabs in your area.

Mama.codes is great. It uses Scratch but teaches you how to do fantastic things. Very simple to pick up.

Actually might be a bit young for her but if she's totally new to it she might get a brief insight

Hourofcode.com is what we used to teach beginners coding in school- there is the added advantage of there being a minecraft game which the kids were already familiar with and helped them get engaged in the coding side of it.
