National Youth Ballet - anyone done it?

Dd1's ballet teacher thinks she should audition for the NYB, has anyone got any experience of it? I want to find out a bit more, though I suspect it's not a possibility as it seems as though they won't let under 11s board at the summer school.

If you search on the 'doing dance' section of balletcoforum.com, there are several threads about NYB and quite a lot of posters have dc's who have taken part, or will likely be auditioning this year.
