DD's starting lessons soon and I'm completely clueless! I'm just after some general info really on how it all works and what they do. I vaguely remember something to do with kitkats when I was younger, but I don't think I even stuck with it for a year. I'm constantly being told she's a natural gymnast, I wouldn't even know what one looked like tbh!

Dd gym session involves warm up/ conditioning exercises that lasts about twenty minutes, she then spends about five to ten minutes on bars, beam, vault, trampoline, floor work. She works towards badges in the club's own scheme. Dd is only a rec gymnast.

Our club is pretty much as ReallyTired says too. Warm up followed by apparatus work. They normally warm up in a large group and then split them up into smaller groups to use the equipment. DD does 4 hrs a week which is a bit more than a Rec gymnast, they asked her to go to an extra session after her first term, I think most clubs spot girls they want to develop quite quickly after joining. Some girls do alot more hours per week if they are very gifted. DD really enjoys gym and has made many friends there. Its a great sport, hope your daughter enjoys it.

Thank you, it's just good to have an idea of what to expect. I think DD will love it, she's been asking to to for ages and had spent the last couple of years upside down! We've been on the waiting list almost a year!!
