Posting here as I feel "at home" and also if you are dithering about how committed your kids are it'll give you a bit of" a few years down the line" perspective.

Dd1 was/ is a heavily committed child/ adult. She was a cathedral chorister and involved in county/ school music. She still has a choral scholarship ( doing an MA at the moment).

She's now not only had her phd proposal accepted, but she's even got an award that not only pays uni fees but quite decent living expenses too!

She is soooo happy ( and my bank balance will be!). She must be pretty good as her passion is ancient history and arts funding is so scarce. It is possible to do everything it seems.

Congratulations, you must be so proud (and rightly too). I think they must be organised and focussed to fit everything in, homework, practice, playing commitments and it stands them well in later life.
