Hi, I'd like my 13 year old DD to safely learn French, by Skype -ing with French speaking children; does anyone know of any such clubs?

Hi there Tigerzmum - we're just going to pop this in a more appropriate topic for you.

Could you encourage your daughter's school to set up an exchange?

My 13 year old is at school in France and her school does British and Spanish exchanges. They are encouraged to text/Skype etc with their counterparts. DD is in Madrid this week with her Spanish counterpart's family and the return trip is in May.

Thank you for your response. It's my son ;-) -I wish to set up a Skype dialogue privately. -and be able to monitor it, hopefully with the other child's mother hovering in be background too. Maybe I'm being too optimistic with the dangers of the internet. 'but was hoping to work with any others who may have set up a vetted group of this nature...

Try the Alliance Francaise for possible connections or practise?
