I think this may be a very long shot but there may be some percussionists out there who can help. DS1 has been learning tuned percussion for just over a year and will be doing grade 3 or 4 at some point next year. We hired a glockenspiel from the music centre, but the costs starts to mount up over several terms. I am thinking of getting him a xylophone for Christmas (chromatic, around 3 octaves) and will ask his percussion teacher for ideas, but if anyone has a good personal experience of buying, first or secondhand, in London/Surrey, I would love to hear some recommendations!
